There aren’t many Asian salons in Pittsburgh and it’s really tough to get appointments, so I ended up here. I showed the barber multiple reference photos, got a quick “okay, okay”, and the cut was rushed in about 15 minutes. Heavy on clippers, barely any scissor work, no real layering. When it came to drying, there was no styling at all, just rough blow drying, flipping my hair back and forth. For 36 dollars, it felt careless and not worth it. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I have long hair and usually only get it cuts every other six months. Although I haven’t been coming here in a while. I was a little bit early to my appointment and clearly the lady was not very happy that I was early. Even though I told her I’m early and I can wait. I have shown pictures to the hairstylist of which haircut I want. I didn’t even think he cares to take a good look at the pictures at all.

Holy crap! Got an impulse urge to completely change my hair, called like 12 places for a same-day appointment knowing damn well my hair is so thick it's gonna take 6 hours. InStyle were the first to say they could take me if I came in ASAP. I knew I was gonna be white as hell in here, but my hair behaves like Asian hair anyway, so I thought, why not? We exchanged very minimal english but they were able to see my vision. With that, if you like a silent appointment, this is the place to go. AND BOY DID THEY SLAY. Literally nailed it from my inspo photos. Price was incredibly fair. The bleach did not burn or itch once and they got my level 4 hair to lift to level 9 in one session. My hair is still soft as hell too!! I am coming back again and again. Thank you InStyle for making my hair a dream come true. I am through the moon happy.

I appreciate the promptness I received as a walk in. I appreciate the owner Feng knows how to cut Asian hair better than many American salons. He cut to desired length, thinned bottoms to add body above, added face-framing long layers, blew out, refined the layers again, and then shortened bangs with fine scissors. I loved the attention to detail. Cost $40. This is reasonable for Pittsburgh. Highly recommend if you have Asian hair, and need a quick haircut and don't have time to book ahead with your regular stylist. And another barber cut my 2 teen boys and they both liked their fade. Cost $30 for each son. Remember to bring cash cause its more if you use credit card. Be forewarned this business awkwardly does ask for a tip. Lastly this place is also great because it is located in heart of Pittsburgh's best authentic Chinese food.
